Hi Tanner — thank you for flagging this, you hit a real wall rather than a bug in your app. Custom apps had no outbound network access at all, so "paste in your API key and pull the data" was impossible, and nothing in the UI told you why. That is fixed. Workspace custom apps can now read external HTTPS APIs, including SEMrush query-key authentication. Two things worth knowing about how it works: the hosts an app is allowed to reach are derived from its source and reviewed when you install it, and the API key itself is configured in Fredrin rather than typed into the app, so the app never gets to read the secret. Your SEMrush app should work now — please give it another go.
